We'll get to you later, Mir, Lulzy, Click, Mag, etc. I have to talk about a fanfic.
So...
Transformers Re-Energized. I have a lot of ideas, so I guess now would be a good time to explain some of them.
First off, the story and inspiration.
The idea was to make a reimagining of Transformers that would try to be a mid-ground between Transformers: Prime and Animated. Not very dark, but still a bit edgy and not too lighthearted. I was also thinking about adding references to original/scrapped concepts in the production of Transformers G1 and Bayformers, such as Ratchet being a girl, Starscream's original name Ulchtar (a seeker is named Ulchtar), the desert sub-plot of the first (and kinda shitty) Bayformers taking place in a jungle and Scorponok being Ravage, Arcee being one of the main 5 Autobots (Movie: Optimus, Bee, Ratchet, Jazz, Ironhide. TFRE: Optimus, Bee, Ratchet, Arcee, Wheeljack), etc.
As for some of the stories, I will occasionally add focus to the human characters, but try not to basically make them the focal characters and annoying little stereotypes. Sure, some characters from the films like Lennox, Epps, Simmons, Maggie, and John Keller appear, but for the most part they are just there or in different positions than Bayformers (Simmons being co-leader of Sector Seven alongside William Fowler, Maggie being a geek from Sam---er--"Spike's" school, Keller being the mayor of Central City). In fact, the only major human characters are often a "golden trio", such as Sam, Carly, and Chip (MTMTE), Rad, Carlos, and Alexis (Unicron Battles), Cody, Lori, and Bud (The Burden Hardest to Bear), and Jack, Miko, and Raf (On the Edge of Extinction).
Next, music. Yes, I know that's a stupid thing to talk about, but I seriously imagine some kind of musical accompaniment whenever I imagine the story. I did mention in the brainstorm thing a few months ago that I imagined the original theme song, the Vince DiCola themes from the animated movie, the Steve Jablonsky themes from the Michael Bay crap, and the Brian Tyler themes from Transformers: Prime.
To sum up:
Main theme:
[link] (The Transformers theme song)
Autobots:
[link] (Autobots from "Transformers...er...BAYformers")
[link] ("Escape" from "The Transformers: The Movie")
Decepticons:
[link] (Decepticons from "Transformers")
[link] ("Attack on the Shuttle" from "The Transformers: The Movie")
[link] ("Evil Decepticon Theme" from "The Transformers: The Movie") NOTE: A demo track
Optimus Prime:
[link] ("Main Theme" from "Transformers: Prime)
[link] ("Death of Optimus Prime" from "The Transformers: The Movie")
Unicron:
[link] ("Unicron Medley" from "The Transformers: The Movie")
[link] (Heed Our Warning from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", a.k.a. worst movie ever)
Primus/The Matrix of Leadership:
[link] (Optimus from "Transformers") Yes, I know this is technically OP's theme, but I feel it's more fitting for Primus and the Matrix.
Human characters:
[link] (Witwicky from "Transformers")
Recurring theme:
[link] (Arrival to Earth)
I said I imagined several styles for the music: specifically the work of John Williams, Thomas Newman, and James Newton Howard.
John Williams:
Autobots:
[link] (The Never-Feast from "Hook")
Decepticons:
[link] (Imperial March from "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back", a.k.a. the best movie ever made) Also fitting style for Unicron
Optimus Prime:
[link] (Hedwig's Theme from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone")
Unicron:
[link] ("Peter Pettigrew" from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban")
Primus:
[link] ("A Window to the Past" from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban")
Spike:
[link] ("Dobby the House Elf" from "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets")
Action cue 1:
[link] ("The Quidditch Match" from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone")
Laserbeak:
[link] ("Devil's Snare/Flying Keys" from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone") The Flying Keys part is what I imagine for Laserbeak
Action cue 2:
[link] ("The Battle of Yavin" from "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope")
Thomas Newman:
Action cue 3:
[link] ("An Unpleasant Incident Involving a Train" from "A Series of Unfortunate Events")
This one death in the finale of the series:
[link] ("Meteor Shower" from "White Oleander")
Bumblebee:
[link] ("Main Title" from "Finding Dory/Finding Nemo 2")
Space Travel (before the Cons arrive):
[link] ("Haiku" from "Finding Nemo")
Seaspray:
[link] ("Wow" from "Finding Nemo")
Soundwave:
[link] ("Gopher" from "WALL-E")
Carly:
[link] ("Concerning Aunt Josephine" from "A Series of Unfortunate Events")
Starscream:
[link] ("Chez Olaf" from "A Series of Unfortunate Events")
Recurring theme:
[link] [link] [link] (These very fine ditties from "A Series of Unfortunate Events" that share the same central melody. "The Reptile Room", "Taken by Surpreeze", "The Wide Window")
James Newton Howard:
Arrival to Earth:
[link] (Flying from "Peter Pan")
Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime:
[link] (the Solar Surfer from "Treasure Planet". Yes, this is just the clip, but I imagine the track as fitting for Hot Rod)
As for the entirety of the Treasure Planet score, I imagine it as fitting for quite a lot of the moments in this story.
There will be more ideas, but I will explain and try to develop them (key word being "try") by Christmas.
That is...if Spider-Man Reincarnation...er....Lemony Snicket's Spider-Man steals all the spotlight because of this one thing I recently came up with regarding it.
Original work like Ghosts, Book of Monsters, Dark Rift, the still untitled cyberpunk noir, and OCT entries don't count, as SMR steals the spotlight from even them.
With all due respect,
